Vampyr in the Mill

Last night i saw Vampyr at the Theatre in the Mill accompanied by Steve Severin performing live! His captivating score, accompanied Charles Theodore Dreyer’s 1932 production “Vampyr”, a (silent) horror film about a village under a Vampire’s curse. The artist was there in person, ensuring that the images and the instrumentation were married perfectly. His composition was eerie, haunting, and really quite beautiful. Music is such a powerful element in cinema and this set just thr right tone for such a visually seductive film.
